Brixham Harbour is situated on the south of Tor Bay and is famous for having one of the largest fishing fleets on the whole of the United Kingdom.
There is a local fish market on the quayside of Brixham Harbour and over 100 fishing boats land to sell their catch here. There is a viewing platform at Brixham Harbour so that you can watch the busy comings and goings of the fishing boats. The fishing fleet of Brixham Harbour is made up of larger trawlers and small day boats.
Brixham Harbour is very pretty and if you approach it from the sea you will see colourful houses trickling down on either side of Brixham Harbour. This harbour is quintessentially English and it mixes tradition with modernity.
Brixham Harbour is currently undergoing a regeneration programme which will improve both the harbour and the town. The moorings on the outer Brixham Harbour comprise mainly of swinging moorings which are divided along the middle by the Fairway. You can also find a few outhaul moorings.
The inner Brixham Harbour is tidal so you will find boat movement restricted at low tide. These moorings are split into four trots of fore and aft moorings.
